The vials are designed for the cryogenic storage and transport of biologicalo specimens at temperatures as low as -196 C. CryoClear caps are produced using the latest in molding technology, where plastic and thermoplastic elastomer (a rubberized material) are co-injected and molded together. This process provides the leak-proof benefits of an o-ring, while eliminating the risk of contamination and other problems associated with separate o-ring gaskets. Each vial is printed with a unique barcode for automated data collection, accurate sample inventory and to hide the identity of the sample.
